  • Story: Started taking Martial Arts back in 1977. My father thought it would put some some disipline into me. I was raised in the gangs. Had no choice. 10 miles from the border and nothing but gangs. Started with TKD then moved to JJ. At the age of 11. By the time I was 14 I was in local and San Diego county JJ tournaments. Nothing big just local.
By the time I was 17 I needed more and wanted to see the world. I enlisted in Army at the age of 17. Stationed at Fort Benning trained as Anti-tank (TOW missles systems) foot solider. At age of 19 went to NCO school and received the rank Corporal. At the time I was the youngest NCO on active duty. I then wanted more and went for Ranger school. I then was deployed to Lebanon. Was'nt fun but somebody has to do it. I had 2 reasons to joining the military. See the world and do my part. Bad luck on my part. I was affected by what they called the J series. It was a new company formed and all personal is in the there career. Unable to get orders over sea I finished my enlistment.
Unable to train due to my injuries from doing so many static airborne jumps. Still physicaly fit. Just knees are not like they use to be. My passion for the MMA grew for the next 15 years.
I do love my Country and love MMA. I am proud to have served for this country and very proud to be part of the best country in the world USA.
